Winter is such a fun season for crafting, and today I am sharing an easy project that you can make with the kids. These craft stick snowman magnets are simple to make, and could even be used as a classroom or homeschooling project for kids. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
You will need just a few supplies to make these adorable craft stick snowman magnets, which you might already have in your craft room.
You could even switch things up a bit on this cute snowman craft. Instead of magnets, you could add a string for an ornament. You could use them as bookmarks too! Try switching it up with different color buttons too, or even an assortment of colors on one snowman. If you really want to get creative, the possibilities are endless.
Craft Stick Snowman Magnets
This tutorial will make 3 magnets. Double or triple the supply list if you would like to make more.
Supplies:
- 3 large wooden craft sticks
- 6 small googly eyes
- 9 small buttons
(3 each of red, yellow and orange
- Thin red ribbon
- Black and orange craft foam
- White paint
- Tacky glue
- scissors
- 2 Peel and stick adhesive magnetic strips
- Black marker
Directions:
Step 1. Paint the craft sticks.
Step 2. Cut 1â€x1†squares of the black craft foam. Cut two strips out of each side to make the hat.
Step 3. Glue the hat in place on one end of the craft stick.
Step 4. Glue two eyes in place on the craft stick, slightly underneath the hat.
Step 5. Cut small triangles out of the orange craft foam to make the “carrot†nose. Glue into place underneath the eyes.
Step 6. Using the marker, draw 5 dots for the mouth, underneath the nose.
Step 7. Cut ribbon into 3 inch strips. Tie ribbon around craft stick, underneath the “mouthâ€.
Step 8. Glue buttons on, about ½ down from the ribbon.
Step 9. Cut magnetic strips in half, remove protective layer over adhesive backing, and stick onto the back of the snowman.
