School is finally out for summer! Here in Florida it is already HOT outside. We try to play outside as much as possible but we can only do that so much in this heat! Outright Games’ recent video game release, Dreamworks Dragons Dawn of New Riders, is a great way to kick any summertime boredom inside with the air conditioning on!
A new heroic dragon and rider are taking to the skies and only you can help them defeat the evil villains who destroyed a dragon sanctuary created by Hiccup, Toothless, and his dragon riders.
When the island of Havenholme is found in ruins, mysterious survivors emerge as unlikely future heroes. Scribbler is a scholar who cannot remember his past while Patch is a unique breed of dragon, a “chimeragon,†with new, unexpected powers they discover along the way. Together they must explore new islands, battle fierce enemies and recover the memories that reveal Patch’s true origin in this fun and fiery new action adventure.

This is an action adventure game that is set up like a story. The game walks you through the steps on how to play so even younger players can enjoy this game. It starts easy and gets harder as you progress.
The story itself is actually really interesting and fun to play. You play as Scribbler who cannot remember his past and a new dragon named Patch as it is a mismatched type of dragon. Together you journey through islands and discover lost memories and Patch’s origin story. We have not finished the game yet but I am playing with a 10 year old and I am loving every minute of it!
You get to collect potions, weapons and more as you play the game. This is the PERFECT game for kids just getting into story games as it is family friendly, easy to learn while still providing challenging game play.

There was a time I was a gamer so I am more than happy to let my girls play games. With Outright Games I know my girls will have a fun game to play that is appropriate for the family. Big Sis is 10 and she has put several hours into this game and she absolutely LOVES it! I have spent several of those hours by her side while she plays because it is such a good game to follow along with! You can certainly beat any summer “boredom” with this game!
