Specialty toy maker SmartMax, a division of Smart Toys and Games, Inc., has brand new magnetic building sets that make for the perfect toys for toddlers!
SmartMax launched its My First series of magnetic building sets last year with My First Animal Train and My First Safari Animals. Kids LOVE magnetic toys making these an instant hit and My First Safari Animals is a Finalist for The Toy Association’s 2018 Specialty Toy Of The Year! The newest additions to their collection have proved over the last few weeks to be a lot of fun for my very own toddler!
My First Farm Animals is for ages 1 – 5 and this set includes 16 pieces for building: Horse, Pig, Cow, Sheep, Chicken and Rooster. My First Tractor Set is for ages 18 months – 5 years and includes 22 pieces including tractor, farmer, horses and fences.
In addition to the satisfaction of clicking pieces together or pulling them apart as magnetic magic is discovered, toddlers pick up quite a few benefits during play. Parents will notice how hand-eye coordination, logical thinking, color recognition and creativity are stimulated and nurtured with a few rounds of play with the chunky pieces.
Baby Sis is either concentrating or smiling when playing with these toys. Later on I can use them to teach her animal noises and colors. Think of these as a youngster’s first STEM toys!
These pieces can be mixed and matched as there are no rules when playing with them! I like that they can mix and match with other sets from the My First product line meaning the more sets you have the more fun you can have!
My 10 and 7 year old love playing with these sets with Baby Sis. It is fun to see what they build!
