Being from Wisconsin and living here almost my entire life, Fleet Farm is one of those stores that has been around for as long as I can remember. In fact, their first store in Marshfiel, WI in 1955, long before I was born. Over 60 years later, they’re still around to serve hardworking Midwestern families and are continuing to grow. Fleet Farm is opening 5 more stores in 2018 across Wisconsin and Iowa, and I had the pleasure of attending the exclusive Friends & Family Event for the Oconomowoc store earlier this week. Though this article is sponsored, all opinions are my own.
The turnout for the Friends & Family event was great, with all of the employees greeting the guests as they walked in. We enjoyed delicious food and a presentation learning all about the company’s mission by key leaders at Fleet Farm including Derrick Prell, as well as the Mayor of Oconomowoc.
The Grand Opening date for Fleet Farm in?Oconomowoc is next Saturday, August 25. The flag raising/ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 6:45 am and the store will open to the public at 7am.? The first 500 customers on both Saturday and Sunday will receive a free Fleet Farm hat, and there will be other awesome giveaways as well, including a $1,000 Fleet Farm gift card and a pallet of DeWalt tools valued at over $2,000! Stop in between 10am – 4pm for a Fundraising cookout by the OCO Rock Climbing Club. Other grand opening festivities include an in store scavenger hunt and sidewalk yard games. Upon first sight of the new store, I was impressed with the size of the property. Snuggled between farmland and fields, sits the largest Fleet Farm store that I have ever stepped foot into. The new Fleet Farm store in?Oconomowoc at 1555 Pabst Farms Blvd has 218,000 square feet of store space and has created over 150 jobs for the community! The property also houses a gas station with 24 hour pay at the pump service and a car wash.
As soon as I entered the store, I noticed giant orange signage highlighting each department and realized it’s such a genius idea. No more wandering through an entire store wondering where each department is, because you can see it all, the moment you walk in. Fleet farm has definitely made shopping their new stores easier with this feature!
Fleet Farm is so much more than a “farm store” and you’ll soon realize that after wandering through the store. They have departments for pets, home and even grocery, then of course farm supplies, power tools and event a paint department and more. It’s really a one stop shop where you can grab practically everything that you need.
As most of you know, I live in a house full of testosterone, so I immediately noticed the auto department, I know my husband would be proud! During a tour of the store, I learned that Fleet Farm has as wide a selection of car care items as an auto store, which is pretty impressive! They’ve also got all of the tools that you’ll need to get the job done. Need great gear for your garage like floor jacks, engine hoists and tool boxes? Well, they carry those things too.
In the auto department and a few other areas throughout the store, you will notice these orange kiosks and that’s where you can grab your pickup tickets for things in the outdoor yard. You just type in the 4 digit number to the item you want, or look it up via search, then type in the quantity and take it to the register with you. You’ll pay for the items, then drive around to the yard for pick up, where staff will help you find what you need and even help you load your items. This is seriously a convenient tool for shopping!
Fleet Farm has a service center where you can get tires installed, oil changed or an alignment done. In fact, you’ll find trained specialists in the automotive, hardware and sporting goods departments that can help to answer your questions and find just what you’re looking for. Their selection of tires in store is pretty massive too!
Speaking of sporting goods, I was really impressed with the selection at Fleet Farm. Whether you’re going fishing, hunting or camping they’ve got you covered with all of the gear you will need for a weekend surrounded by nature!
