Now that I am a busy mom I absolutely LOVE audiobooks! I can listen to them in them at the gym or in the car…especially in the dreaded pickup line for school and they are even great to listen to while lying in bed at night when I am just too tired to hold up a book (remember I do have a baby at home so I am always tired). I have of course read the first 7 Harry Potter books and my husband has read them to our 9 year old so we are all big fans of the wizarding world.
I never really sat back and thought…how in the world did Quidditch come to be….but J.K. Rowling did and she wrote Quidditch Through the Ages that answers every single thing there is to know about the sport. From the first recorded mentions of the sport, to rules through the centuries all the way to the modern day Quidditch World Cup the 3 of us hung onto every word while listening on our way to our Spring Break vacation. Andrew Lincoln delivers a performance that left us almost sad when the book ended! The book is really great by itself but then you dive into over an hour and a half of coverage from the 2014 Quidditch World Cup and it flows together flawlessly. You get to hear updates from each match including major plays and follies and ultimately you follow along to hear who the winner is. For those that like the gossip column then there is plenty to listen in on as Rita Skeeter is there to tell you what the famous witches and wizards are up to during the final match.?Quidditch Through the Ages is a spectacular audiobook that is a must-listen for Harry Potter fans.
