Breastfeeding is easily one of the hardest yet simultaneously most rewarding things I have ever done. I breastfed my first 2 for about 15 months each and this time around we are at 8 months and counting. I have dealt with everything from latch issues to exclusively pumping for a preemie so I know the struggles. I really enjoy using products that can help me with my breastfeeding journey. Breast milk is indeed liquid gold. From the award-winning?Milkies Milk-Saver?to the ingenious Milk Trays, Milkies products offer a breastfeeding support lineup.
Easy to use, simply slip the Milk-Saver into your bra-cup on the non-nursing side before you breastfeed. The Milk-Saver collects the milk that is leaked when your breast milk lets down. You can store this milk and save it for any time it’s needed.
It comes with a convenient carrying case that also serves as a stand for the Milk Saver. Remember…crying over breast milk is an acceptable human reaction! Help prevent that and use the convenient lid as a stand!
It holds a little over 2 oz. of breast milk. I like to use it with the first feeding in the morning. After *hopefully* a long night’s sleep of at least 4 hours I have plenty of milk so I put this on the opposite side Baby Sis is eating off of. I easily put it in my bra and it comfortably pushes against my chest. There is a little hole for my nipple to go in. I can get 1.5 oz. on average in about 12 minutes. Score!
It is not only made in the USA but it also contains no BPA or phthalates. Wash by hand, on the top rack of your dishwasher or boil (do not steam).
Once you have the milk now you need to store it. Sure, I can and have used milk bags but Milk Trays offer up another way to freeze breast milk. Milk Trays allow you to freeze breast milk into convenient, 1-ounce sticks that fit into all bottle sizes.
Each tray freezes eight 1-ounce “Milk Sticks”, allowing you to thaw the exact amount you need for each feeding. The trays are made from food-grade plastic that is free from bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, and dyes.
These are some of those items that make great baby-shower gifts as they might not be something the Mama-to-be thought about. When she gets around to using it she can be pleasantly surprised! The Milk-Saver is especially something I think every breastfeeding Mama needs. You can purchase yours at Fairhaven Health and Babies R Us. Good luck to all those breastfeeding Mamas out there…every product no matter how little or strange that helps us to breastfeed is worth it to try and these 2 are working great for me!
