One of my favorite publishing companies is Fox Chapel Publishing! ?I can never turn down anything they ask me to review. ?Not only and I lover of books, but I am also a lover of art. ?Their are so many people out there that would love to learn to create and this round-up of books is incredible:Let’s Draw Flowers,?Let’s Get Creative with Markers,??Super Simple Hand Lettering, Just Add Watercolor and?Just Add Water.
Let’s Draw Flowers: A Creative Workbook for Doodling & Beyondby Angela Van Dam walks you through drawing flowers step-by-step. I love how her books are laid out. Not only does she make it easy to draw, but each page is inspiring.
Another great title from Angela Van Dam is Let’s Get Creative with Markers: A Creative Workbook for Coloring, Shading, Blending & Beyonddemonstrates how to use all sorts of markers. Even as an art educator I have never seen nor experimented with the different types of markers Angela Van Dam introduces her readers to.
Super Simple Hand Lettering: ?20 Traceable Alphabets, Easy Projects, Practice Sheets & More! by Kiley Bennett includes all the alphabets for the different styles lettering. She has illustrations of which direction to begin your lettering had where to fill the area in more. Even for someone that doesn’t have pretty handwriting she makes it easy for your letters to be pretty too.
Just Add Watercolor: Easy Techniques and Beautiful Patterns for True Beginners and Just Add Water: Happy Thoughts by Robin Pickens are both great books to use to begin working in watercolors. Robin Pickens has step-by-step examples in the back of each book, and her pages are filled with her drawings on watercolor paper so that you can creat your own watercolor paintings.
You cannot go wrong with this selection of creative books. I have found each one helpful and I have been an artist most of my life.
