Somehow this book perfectly sums up all the things I want my daughters to really understand and all in a beautiful love letter with heartwarming accompanying illustrations. It is so important that they know it is okay to feel pink and sparkly and to also feel like jumping in the mud. Or that it is totally alright not to be invited to every party. Dear Girl, encourages girls to accept and love themselves while letting them know the reader will always be there for them. I am going to go ahead and say that every girl needs to have this book on their bookshelf! It is only January and I have already come across a favorite book of the year. One that I will want to read to my girls over and over again and then treasure till they have their own daughters some day.
