Perfect for fans of silly animal hi-jinks comes Three Little Monkeys by Quentin Blake and illustrated by Emma Chichester Clark. A lot of people own cats or dogs but Hilda Snibbs owns 3 little monkeys and every day she leaves them at home and when she comes back she finds a huge mess!
Laugh-out-loud funny, totally chaotic, and utterly delightful?Tim, Sam, and Lulu are the mischievous and naughty three little monkeys who are told each day to be good while Hilda goes off to do her errands. And each day, Hilda returns home to find a bigger mess than the day before. These mischievous monkeys will likely never learn to behave!
Quentin Blake is one of the most iconic illustrators of our time. He has also written the words for many of his own books and, this time, for another artist. Quentin taught for over twenty years at the Royal College of Art. You can visit him online at www.quentinblake.com.
Emma Chichester Clark studied art at the Royal College of Art. She has worked as a freelancer for magazines, publishers and advertising agencies as well as teaching art for several years, but now dedicates most of her time to children’s books. She was nominated for the Kurt Maschler Award for Illustration twice and ?I Love You, Blue Kangaroo!?, was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
Lil Sis is 6 and this book is perfect for her. She giggles when the monkeys make a big mess and she always smiles when we get to the part at the end where Hilda Snibbs loves them even when they make messes. I remind Lil Sis that I love her no matter what as well! The illustrations remind me of how pictures looked in books when I was little and I absolutely love that! A funny book with a sweet message about unconditional love that makes for some great parent/child reading.
