How can I send my child to college? That’s a question that I have been asking myself a lot lately, since Big Bro just turned 18. You see, we had kids young. My husband and I were practically kids ourselves when we got pregnant with Big Bro and our parents didn’t instill a lot of the important aspects of life into us, so we kind of just went with the flow and learned as we went. Now we’re at a point where things like college are on our minds and we have nothing set in place for either of our boy’s future. I’ve partnered with Country Financial to share some of the things that I’ve learned about college planning. As always, opinions are my own.?
How Can I Send My Child to College?
First of all, early planning is absolutely helpful and you will definitely have a a much better shot of being able to afford the costs associated with a higher education for your child if you start early. Let’s face it, college gets more and more expensive every year, so planning early is key. COUNTRY Financial can help you get a plan of action into place, by developing a plan with you to save and prepare for your child’s future. They even have local representatives available to help you every step of the way.
Of course, there are other ways to help provide an education for your child, but many of them include making personal sacrifices such as cutting down on your daily spending or not going out to eat or taking a family vacation. Another alternative is to get a second or third job, just to pay for your child’s education. That’s actually where I’m at right now. I started a direct sales job in May so that I can set all of the earnings from that aside to pay for college or some sort of higher education for both of my boys.
I really wish that my husband and I would have known the things that we know now, especially the importance of planning for our kids to go to college one day. Now we’re at the point in life where we’ve tried to get to for so long, but the cost of paying for college is hanging over our heads and is going to put a damper on our comfortable lifestyle rather quickly. So play it smart, unlike we did, and start planning for your child’s college education now, rather than asking yourself “How can I send my child to college?” down the road.
