Lil Sis is not the rough and tumble type. She is more gentle and methodical but still wants to move around and have fun so last year we signed her up for ballet. She loves it so we put her in it again this year. Ballet is a great way for her to express herself and she especially loves dressing as a ballerina! Slippers and Tutus not only sells dance wear but lets people know about the rich history of ballet, which can be traced back to the Renaissance in France and Italy.
Their merchandise is provided by certified suppliers so you can be sure that you’re getting quality. They work hard to be the one stop shop for all your dance apparel needs and one day soon they hope to be the source of all things ballet in your life. Lil Sis loves their stuff!
Lil Sis is actually in a ballet/tap combo class this year so half the time she is in tap shoes and the other half she is in ballet shoes. That is why you see her in both kinds of shoes in the pictures.
As with any clothing review here is my take on their sizing. Lil Sis here is 6 and very tall and super skinny. She typically wears a 6 or 6x in clothes. All the leotards you see in the pictures are a size medium 8-10. They are all slightly big on her but she can still wear them without them falling off and they will get at least 1 and most likely 2 years of wear out of them. I think she would have been fine in the small 4-6 but these give her more room to grow. So overall very true to size on fit.
In the pictures 2 of the outfits are leotard dresses where it is all one piece. The other two are leotards with a dance skirt over them. I like that these skirts are a little longer than other skirts we have used. It gives her the coverage she likes while still being appropriate for class.
The bag in the pictures is not on their site yet but will be soon. Super cute to tote to class. It easily carries her ballet shoes, tap shoes, water bottle, spare outfit, jacket as well as a brush and hair ties with room to spare. The strap is adjustable so big and little kids can use it.
Slippers and Tutus believes that ballet should be open to everyone. They get their products from screened suppliers and the people behind this site work to make sure everything goes smoothly. They offer a range of dance apparel, gear, and related merchandise. Lil Sis wants to try their bright and colorful dance shorts next!
