Let’s Investigate with Nate is the newest STEM-based picture book series from the Emmy Award-winning host of PBS’s Design Squad and Design Squad Nation, Nate Ball, and illustrated by Wes Hargis. With a fun cast of characters and vibrant illustrations by Wes Hargis, it’s a learning adventure kids will enjoy!

Nate Ball is the host of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning PBS reality shows Design Squad and Design Squad Nation. An MIT graduate with a Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering, Nate is the cofounder of Atlas Devices, a two-time All-American pole-vaulter, and a competitive beatboxer. He is also the author of the Alien in My Pocket series. He lives with his family in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Wes Hargis is an illustrator with nineteen years of experience working with newspapers and publishers across the nation, including King Features Syndicate and the Los Angeles Times. He has also illustrated WHEN I GROW UP by Al Yankovic for HarperCollins. He lives with his wife and sweet kids in Arizona.
Let’s Investigate with Nate takes kids on wild adventures while learning about “cool science.” In each book Nate takes 4 kids every Saturday morning on a trip through a portal at the Science Museum! With each trip the reader (including good old Mom here) learns new things. After the story ends there is an included hands-on experiment guide that of course my children want to do right away. I love their enthusiasm for learning and wanting to do their own experiments to see first-hand what they read about in the story.
Science is HOT right now as everyone seems interested in science more than ever before! This especially goes for kids! Like many parents I want to stimulate the minds of my girls to be interested in science now so as they grow older their interest won’t fade away. If your kids like The Magic School Bus then they will LOVE Let’s Investigate with Nate! Big Sis and Lil Sis are super eager to see what adventures Nate takes them on in future books!
