My oldest is going away to sleep-away camp for the very first time this summer and I am so nervous. It is only for a few nights and if I am honest with myself she has been ready for years. I have some of the most amazing memories from sleep-away camp when I was little and it was by far my favorite week of the summer. Now it is time for my big girl to enjoy the fun. Peaceable Kingdom has a selection of summer camp journals, postcards and games that you can send with your little camper to give them something fun to do during their camp down times.
This is a guided journal so that means that it is full of prompts to help younger ones with what to write about. This one is 130 pages and has 8 tabbed sections. Full of color and completely themed for camp it is absolutely adorable. There are sections for games, doodles, pop-out postcards and even has an area for them to write their friends names and addresses so that they can keep in touch during the school year. Big Sis already has her info filled out in it and it is packed and ready for her camping adventure.
This postcard book has 12 postcards to tear out and send. Your child can add stamps and pre-fill out the person’s name and mailing address in advance so all they have to do is add in their message. It is fun giving and receiving mail while at camp!
My camp would have down time every day and if I wasn’t busy writing letters home then we would play games. Playing cards are an easy to pack game that are fun for even big groups to enjoy. We really love cats in my family so these kittens ones are a big hit with all of us.
Each of these are super cute and absolutely perfect for the price! Getting Big Sis fun items like these makes me a little less sad that she is leaving me for sleep-away camp. Summer camp can be an amazing experience and journals, postcards and playing cards are just a few items to help make their time away as much fun as possible.
