We all know how important reading is for children and how an early start proves beneficial for a lifetime of learning. But children can often get bored when reading just to read, so finding great stories is important and today I’ve partnered with Barron’s to share 5 inspiring stories for children from Born Free. Though I received samples for this feature, all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links.
Around the world, wild animals have been saved from a lifetime of cruelty and suffering and these 5 books from Born Free share inspiring stories to help children learn about how Born Free comes to the rescue to save these animals from suffering that they’ve endured.
Parents will be intrigued by these books as they recall Born Free, the movie that inspired a generation. In it, they learned the story of Elsa, an orphaned lion cub that was brought up by Joy and George Adamson, founders of the Born Free Foundation (portrayed by Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna in the movie), and released back into the wild.
The 5 books in the series; Dolphin Rescue, Leopard Rescue, Lion Rescue, Elephant Rescue and Chimp Rescue are available for under $7 each on Amazon.com and help to teach children how to help to make the world a better place through love, empathy and standing up for what you believe in.
These inspiring stories for children are perfect for all ages and my almost 4 year old nephews are really enjoying them. They’re learning all about animals right now and these books have been such a great resource in teaching them all about animals in the wild, rather than the animals on the farm like they’re used to.
With summer coming up, it’s important to keep kids reading so they don’t get the summer brain drain and this series is perfect for that!
