For little ones ages 4 to 8 that love boats then Tugboat Bill and the River Rescue by Calista Brill & Illustrated by Tad Carpenter is a must read.

Bill is a tugboat. Mabel is a barge. Together they go up and down the choppy river.
The other ships are big and vain. They tease Bill and Mabel. But when a kitten falls in the water, it’s up to Bill and Mabel to save the day!

Bold and bright illustrations show off the boats on the Hudson River by New York City. Some boats are not so nice but Bill and Mabel are different. When a kitty falls in the water all the other boats refuse to help but Mabel is ready to save the day and Bill helps too. The other boats become jealous about all the fame they get but Bill and Mabel ignore them. This book shows off how an old boat even though she is made fun of is still a good boat and what matters is that she is helping out others. A cute book with adorable boats as the main characters!
