What’s better than being best friends? Being best friends who volunteer together at the Roxbury Park Dog Shelter! With a focus on friendship, family, and cute canines, Roxbury Park Dog Club is perfect for tween readers who snap up books from series like Cupcake Diaries and Candy Apple, or for anyone who loves dogs.
In this fifth book, Brianna tries to figure out where she fits as the Dog Club’s newest member. She loves the dogs, especially sweet shelter dog Lily, but sometimes she feels like the fourth wheel in Sasha, Kim, and Taylor’s friendship trio. Then the shelter starts a new foster program. Bri knows she?ll feel better if she can bring Lily home?but convincing her mom to take in an older shelter dog may be even tougher than feeling like a fourth wheel?
In this sixth book, the Dog Club is busier than ever?and headed right for its first big fight! Sasha doesn?t think it’s fair that she’s stuck answering calls and emails while Kim, Taylor, and Bri don?t have to worry about the business side of the Club. But when she tries to speak up, the other girls don?t get it. Now they?re mad at Sasha? and it feels like the Dog Club is about to fall apart!
Now that Bis Sis is 8 and fully reading chapter books on her own she is reading more than I can even keep up with. One of those series is this one…Roxbury Park Dog Club. She is devouring these books as quick as they come out! This is more a review coming from her as I will admit I have not had time to read them. Big Sis says they are “awesome and they have a story I love to read especially since it involves dogs. The girl get into problems but they still have fun and figure it out by the end of the book.” She reads these on the way to school, on the way home from school and in bed at night. For her to read them that frequently shows how much she really loves them! She will even re-read these which is not something she normally does with chapter books. A great chapter book series for tween girls…especially if they like animals!
