I still remember having to shop for my very first bra back in middle school so very many years ago. I was a late bloomer so to speak, a tomboy through and through and I found any and all bras extremely uncomfortable yet necessary. Now I have two girls of my own and they are as girly as one can be. My oldest is only 8 but the topic of bras has already come up when she sees them at the underwear section of stores and I am always in shock to see so many little bras full of padding and fancy designs. I am proud to share with you information on the Yellowberry Company and how they are changing the bra industry for little girls. They have a nice selection of age appropriate bras and underwear that are meant to be comfy and supportive.
When I was 17-years-old, I took my younger sister shopping to buy her very first bra.? We scoured the mall to find a product that she was excited about, but I ended up being completely appalled at all of the bra options that were available – padding, push-up features and underwire galore? I could not believe that these were the bras that young girls were supposed to wear! I saw something very wrong with that experience. ?Why wasn?t there just a cute, colorful and comfortable bra for my sister, Mary Margaret, to wear?? Why wasn?t there a product to help her feel comfortable in her own body?? I decided to make it my mission to change that and find a better way. Armed with my own hand-drawn design of what I believed was an age appropriate bra, I took the small savings I had earned from my summer job bussing tables and moved forward with this idea.? As a junior in high school in 2014, I founded my company, Yellowberry to change the bra industry for girls.

Yellowberry has become a brand that celebrates and supports girls to become confident and empowered women. They have been recognized by the Today Show, GMA, NY Times, and she was included on Time Magazine’s most influential teen list as well as Forbes 30 Under 30.? This year, she even received a Thiel Fellowship which is allowing her to grow her business instead of attending Middlebury College which she had planned on doing and was accepted.
This bra is so incredibly soft and Big Sis says it is super comfortable. You can see on this one you can adjust the straps for the perfect fit. They offer up several different styles and colors to choose from including sports bras and seamless bras.
Besides bras they also have underwear, socks, headbands, lounge wear, tote bags, water bottles, leggings and more. I just say no to inappropriate bras for girls. These are cute, comfortable and just perfect for girls as they transition into a teen and then a woman. This is my daughter’s first “real bra” and she could not be more thrilled. I highly suggest these for all moms with little girls because there will come the day when they need their first bra and they don’t get any better than this.
