Fundraising ideas don?t have to be boring. Did you ever think that you can raise money for your kid’s schools and have them get in shape in the process?
I?m a parent and a grandfather. And, when the time comes for the fundraising to begin for my grandkids, I hope their schools consider a kid’s mud run. A mud run is an obstacle course with mud. There are timed and competitive races for adults. But, there are also simple obstacle races for kids. Mud runs help raise school and team spirit. They can be a stand-alone event or part of a weekend fair.
I remember all of the lessons I learned as a dad when I was fundraising for my daughter’s school years ago. At the time I was an executive in sales in the footwear business. I sold candy, wrapping paper and cookie dough each year. I came to realize my family, friends and co-workers would dutifully buy from me for the school fundraiser, but they would rather have not. They didn?t want the temptation of added sugar and calories in their homes. Ultimately, I ended up writing a check and giving away the candy.
Years later, my team and I developed and grew one of the leading school fundraising companies in the U.S., Funds2Orgs. Having spoken to many schools, teachers, parents and administrators, I knew schools needed creative fundraising ideas that were going to work.
Funds2Orgs is one of the leading shoe drive fundraising businesses in the U.S. and Canada. Our fundraising partners collect gently worn, used and new shoes. Since we established this social enterprise, we?ve worked with thousands of schools, youth groups and others. Funds2Orgs issues a check based on the total weight of the shoes.
Schools Get What They Need for Kids Mud Run Fundraising
We are committed to provide our mud run partners with everything they need for success. With our turn-key approach to fundraising, we are able to give schools everything they need for a mud run fundraising event.
- A fundraising coaching team is always on hand to work with schools throughout the entirety of the mud run fundraiser.
- The shoe collection, digital promotion and marketing materials necessary are given to shoe fundraising partners.
- A member of our driving team will pick-up the shoes from the location where they?re stored.
- Funds2Orgs issues a check within 2 business days of the shoes being received and processed at our warehouse.
3 Benefits of a Mud Run Fundraiser
Mud runs are loads of fun. The athletic shoes used during the mud run can be contributed to a great local fundraiser with global impact.
- We?ve worked with thousands of schools, youth groups, and others to help them raise money. A shoe drive fundraiser is different, engaging and fun.
- The shoes collected are shipped to developing nations where they become inventory for micro-entrepreneurs (small business owners) who live in poverty. Shoes help give micro-entrepreneurs, their families and children a path out of poverty.
- Mud run athletic footwear and other shoes that are unwanted don?t end up in landfills. When shoes go to landfills, they harm the environment and health because they take decades to decompose. During that time, they release toxins into the air.
Aren?t you curious about a kid’s mud run and how Funds2Orgs can give you creative fundraising ideas?
Around here it is all about the color run. Colored powder everywhere!
I think this is a great way to fundraise for schools! I will definitely be sharing this with our schools here.
Funds2Org sounds great! I remember when my daughter was in school and trying to raise money for her team. I have to tell you, I’m glad those days are over. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE.
I was always curious about these mud runs! Not sure my daughter would hve enjoyed them, she is so girly and hates to be dirty; me on the other hand would have love to do this! Such a great way to raise money!
What a fantastic idea. I really prefer something like this instead of more popcorn and gift wrap.
