My kids are back in school and I am already thinking ahead to the Fall season. Here are three beautiful pictures books that release in September.

Lester hasn?t really belonged to anyone or anyplace for a long time. So when Daddy Albert and Daddy Rich adopt him, he is excited about his new life. There are a lot of things to like about his new house and his family:
He has a brand-new room.
And a brand-new bed.
And a new bike.
And new toys.
And hot cocoa.
And new cousins, too.
And then there is Wincka, his new daddies? big, furry dog. She’s the best.
But even with all these good things, Lester gets lonely and scared in the middle of the night. What will it take to make Lester feel home at last?
Vera B. Williams died on October 16, 2015, while still working on Home at Last with her dear friend and fellow artist Chris Raschka. Chris Raschka’s astonishing and glorious full-color paintings are based on sketches by Vera B. Williams and honor both her spirit and her intent. Home at Last is a universal, timely, and timeless book about the right of all children to belong someplace safe.
Mervin the Sloth is about to do the best thing in the world.
Can you guess what it is?
?Flying!? says the bird.
?Gazelling!? says the gazelle.
?Digging!? says the prairie dog.
Hurry up, Mervin! But Mervin moves so slowly. Are you patient enough to wait? No? Turn the page!
Mervin the Sloth Is About to Do the Best Thing in the World is written by Colleen AF Venable and illustrated by Ruth Chan. Mervin is just standing around when giant letters start dropping right onto the page. The words say ?Mervin the Sloth is about to do the best thing in the world” and all his friends immediately start guessing what it is that he is gonna do. Sloths don’t do anything fast so each page is filled with funny guessing. You will want to quickly read through each page so you and your little one can find out what Mervin is gonna do. A little patience it worth it!
In this book you will discover
1 colorful tree,
2 scurrying squirrels,
and 15 blended words
created to celebrate the wonder of fall!
In Wonderfall by Michael Hall you will follow a single tree through the fall season, from the end of summer to winter’s first snowfall. It is a poetic journey with simple yet perfect illustrations. Two full spreads at the back of the book offer additional information about the animals featured in the book, as well as the science behind squirrels, acorns, and saplings. I have become quite a fan of Michael Hall this last year and this book is yet again another win.
These Fall Picture Book Releases are to be enjoyed by children ages 4 to 8. Each one offers something a little bit unique and you will want to read them to your children over and over again.
