One thing is fairly certain….little kids love reading about animals. With all this warm weather we have been spending a lot of our time outdoors and as it always happens we see a ton of wildlife. My kids like to point out everything from the birds to the butterflies. This month’s book buddies is all about animals. These books are the perfect amount of wild and can be taken with your child on their adventures.

Love Song of the Little Bear by
From the recently discovered archives of Margaret Wise Brown, author of the children s classics Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny, comes a new and charming story of maternal love and springtime.
The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and a little bear frolics through the spring fields. Of course the best part of spring is having somebody to share it with, and who better than your loving mother?
Join the little bear and his mother in this gentle celebration of the universal love between a mother and child.
Spot a Lot Animals is a fun kit with a storybook as well as a jigsaw puzzle. This puzzle is unique because not only is it double-sided but it also gets to be colored in on one side by your child!
Read the storybook, then play with the jigsaw puzzle! There’s trouble at the zoo today… The animals have run away! Gibbons swinging and playing on the jungle gym, zebras camouflaged on the crosswalk, penguins keeping cool in the swimming pool… The animals are everywhere! Look very carefully as you help the zookeeper count and spot all the zoo runaways in this great animal escape.
2000 Stickers Animals is an activity book full of a ridiculous amount of stickers! My girls somehow find a way to not get tired of stickers. They LOVE books like this one and the fact that it is animal themed makes it even more fun!
Meet the super animals in this fun activity book! Children can get busy scribbling, puzzling, sticking, and sketching in a world full of crazy creatures. Then choose from 2000 stickers to complete each page!
Disney Bambi: The Story of Bambi is a Movie Collection Storybook. It is a big, truly gorgeous picture book that follows along with the story from the movie. It is a longer book which makes me think it is great for preschoolers all the way through 2nd grade. A classic story every child should know.
Fall in love with Bambi, the young prince of the forest, as he learns valuable lessons about friendship, love, and the miracle of life. With beloved characters like Thumper the bunny, this deluxe storybook retelling of the classic animated film is a treasure to behold.
These books are great for little animal lovers! As a child I kept all my books in pristine condition. My girls are the opposite! I have to just “let it go” and let my girls drag their books wherever they go. The important part is letting them get out and play and enjoy a good book at the same time. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with these fun animal books.
