I just love reading picture books to my girls. A story with big, beautiful illustrations is such a big part of childhood. In a blink they will move on to chapter books forever. Until then I have so many magical books to choose from. This time is You Made Me a Mother written by Laurenne Sala and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser as well as the book All We Know written by Linda Ashman and illustrated by Jane Dyer.
In this beautiful celebration of motherhood, the universal message of unconditional love for a child shines through. Laurenne Sala’s heartwarming text, accompanied by New York Times bestselling artist Robin Preiss Glasser’s charming illustrations, creates a firsthand look at the powerful bond between mother and child from pregnancy to birth and beyond.
I felt you.
You were a pea.
Then a lemon.
Then an eggplant.
The stars know how to shine.
The earth knows how to turn.
The sun knows when to
wake each day?
it didn’t need to learn. As the seasons change from warm to cold, and plants grow from seed to sprout, a mother tenderly explains how the love for her child knew to blossom in her heart?naturally, like the majestic wonder of the great outdoors.
Linda Ashman’s prose radiates warmth, and Jane Dyer’s charming illustrations depict the parent-child bond. All We Know is the perfect book for mothers and the little ones they love.
These two books are great for little ones aged 4-8 and perfectly timed to release here at Springtime. These books are extra sweet and would even make great gifts to moms-to-be since they both have reminders of how amazing pregnancy and a child’s life is.
