Let kids create awesomely unique doodled characters using their very own fingerprints! Fingerprint Monsters and Dragons and 100 Other Adventurous Creatures is full of step-by-step instructions teaching you how to make 30 classic fictional foes including trolls, pirates, warlocks and skeletons with only the tips of your fingers. Enjoy your own fantasy world with no paintbrush required! Of course kids aren’t the only ones who will love this book as artists of all ages can put their finger on the fun of art!

This book starts with easier to make ones like a green fingerprint then decorating it with monster faces and it progresses to harder ones like detailed detectives. There are step-by-step or should I say fingerprint-by-fingerprint instructions making it so even younger kids can follow along at ease. It is listed for 8 to 12 year olds but my 7 year old can do them on her own and my 4 year old only needs a little help to do them. I am no artist but the instructions are so good even I can do the detailed ones and it looks so cool! The extra awesome thing about this book is that there are also blank page spreads so that you can decorate it with you very own fingerprint monsters!
It even gives directions so you can make a whole pirate ship! Here is a a small peak of my daughter’s mermaid that goes on the bow of the ship. I seriously can’t get over the cuteness!
This is the first book in its series that uses fingerprints as starting points for creative doodles so be on the lookout for its sister volume, Fingerprint Princesses and Fairies coming soon! This book has already occupied my girls for hours and it will surely be a book that they grab time and time again this summer when we are home all day and looking for some new craft ideas.
