I received samples for this Up-cycling Bottles – DIY Floral Vase feature, though opinions are my own.
I’ve had a love for crafting since I was a little girl and I’m really glad to have found a bit more time for crafting these days. I’ve been getting rather creative with paper crafting lately and my latest creation has to do with up-cycling bottles to create a beautiful DIY floral vase.
Up-cycling Bottles – DIY Floral Vase
You’ll need the following tools and supplies, most available at Stampin’ Up:
- Fun Flower Punch
- Petite Petals Punch
- Bohemian Designer Series Paper
- glass bottle – washed and label removed
1. Start by washing your bottles and removing the label. The method I use is a few tablespoons of baking soda in room temperature water, then letting the bottles soak for an hour or two. The labels peel right off!
2. Use the Fun Flower Punch and Petite Petals Punch to punch?a few flowers/petals using your favorite sheets of?Bohemian Designer Series Paper.
3. Making sure your bottle is dry, add some Mod Podge to the back of one of the larger?”Fun Flowers” then place it where you’d like it on the bottle. Cover with Mod Podge and repeat until you’re happy with the design.
4. Repeat step 3 with the “Petite Petals”.
5. Cover the entire bottle with Mod Podge and let dry. Cover with a second coat of Mod Podge, let dry again. Once the bottle is dry, the “whiteness” will?fade.
Add a flower in a coordinating color and display on a mantel, shelf or wherever it’ll look best in your home! This is a fun, inexpensive and very easy craft to spruce up your home for spring and summer.
