Fill up those Easter baskets with children’s books this Spring! My girls not only have come to expect books as gifts for holidays and birthdays but books are now their favorite kind of gifts! Below I have listed some really cute reads for kids ages 0-4 and 4-8 depending on the book.

Splat is the special one chosen to take care of the class chicken eggs in Splat the Cat and the Quick Chicks from New York Times bestselling author-artist Rob Scotton. When Splat takes the chicks home overnight, they hatch and run loose around his house! They pop up in the bathroom, hide inside his socks, and fall asleep in the paint box! Will Splat be able to round them all up? An especially great book for beginning readers as this is a Level 1 I Can Read! book. Your child will practice words in the quick and chick word family in this easy-to-read addition to the adorable and popular Splat series.
From the husband-and-wife team that created the timeless classic The Carrot Seed comes, The Happy Egg, another simple and delightful story for parents and children to enjoy together. Simple text and pictures make The Happy Egg just right for the youngest of readers ages 4-8. The story-line lends itself to interactive reading where parents can encourage their children to walk, sing, and fly as the little bird does. When a little bird is inside an egg, it cannot walk, it cannot sing, and it cannot fly. All it can do is be sat on. But when the time is just right: Pop!?out it comes. And then a little bird can do almost anything!
Five little bunnies went hippity hop. The first bunny said, Were here! Let’s stop!? Get ready for spring with Five Little Bunnies with pictures by Dan Yaccarino. These little bunnies hide brightly colored Easter eggs for all the children to find. Toddlers will want to chant along with this fun take on a classic rhyme. The vibrant and bold illustrations bringing this story to life on this sturdy board book which is sure to captivate your littlest Easter cuties aged 0-4.
The youngest of readers aged 0-4 learn their opposites in Big Chickie, Little Chickie. With rhyming words and fun illustrations, the Chickies help babies and toddlers have fun while learning the fundamentals in this padded board book perfect for even little hands. This one would be especially great for Moms-to-be and Moms of newborns.
I hope you enjoy reading these great books and more for Easter!
