Kids Actually Learn through Play & You Can Help!

Playtime is fundamental in child development. In fact, children?actually learn through play and while many may not think kids are learning while they’re playing, they most definitely are. While playing, children learn to think, they often learn to share and they also learn fine motor skills. Playtime is also good for a child’s social, emotional and physical well-being.

But sadly, there are kids living in poverty right here in the US who miss out on playtime because their families don’t have the resources or knowledge on how important play time actually is. ToysRUs has just partnered with Save the Children this week to launch their new Play with Purpose?campaign which will help to raise awareness and fundraising to help provide underprivileged kids with playtime activities. Here are some statistics that share what a great resource this can be to some kids!

• Play Enhances the Progress of Early Development by 34%

We can all help!

Between February 17 and April 17, you can make donations to help kids through the Play with Purpose initiative. Donations can be made in store at any ToysRUs or BabiesRUs store or through the Play with Purpose website. Every little bit helps and no amount is too small to make a difference in the lives and development of children across the country.
