I am super excited to announce the release of the children’s book, The Not Very Merry Pout-Pout Fish, the latest hardcover children’s picture book from The New York Times bestselling Pout-Pout Fish series. The series debuted in 2008 with The Pout-Pout Fish, which Time Magazine named a ?Top Ten Children’s Book? and I can see why as they are really awesome books. Since then, Mr. Fish has won over the hearts of millions of young readers (ages 2-6) as he Goes to School, faces the Big-Big Dark, learns to Smile, discovers how to Dream and plays Hide-and-Seek. Today there are more than 2.5 million Pout-Pout Fish books in print.
A gift should be big,
And a gift should be bright.
And a gift should be perfect–
Guaranteed to bring delight.
And a gift should have meaning
Plus a bit of bling-zing,
So I?ll shop till I drop
For each just-right thing!?Will Mr. Fish find perfect gifts for everyone on his list? Will he finish his shopping in time?
Swim along with Mr. Fish on his holiday shopping quest. He might just discover that the best gifts of all come straight from the heart.
The grumpiest fish in children’s literature is back with another case of ?the dreary wearies? and this time he is down in the dumps over holiday’shopping. Mr. Fish is consumed with buying the biggest and most perfect gift for each of his friends that he forgets the true meaning of the?holidays. His friend Miss Shimmer?intervenes with a plan for him to give the very best gifts instead. He soon learns that it’s not about buying the most expensive gift or?gifting the season’s hottest item but instead giving from the heart.

Here is your chance to meet the Pout-Pout Fish author and illustrator during the 12-city book tour from November 14-21. Unfortunately none are near me or I would definitely go. The author will be at my favorite little book store in Vero Beach which is where I use to live. Visiting an author or illustrator is a great way to get kids interested in reading.

This book is written in the same rhyming fashion as the other books in the series and it is just as delightful. The illustrations are colorful and full of little details that my girls love to point out. The Not Very Merry Pout-Pout Fish is a great book to remind everyone what is really important over the holiday season…spending time with friends and family and gifts from the heart. A great holiday book to read every year.
