While there are plenty of children’s books on the market this story is one to inspire children and parents alike. This story encourages happiness through opening the eyes of the young to the beauty of this world.
When a young boy in search of joy asks the Earth where he can find happiness, the Earth responds and agrees to show him the way. The boy rushes excitedly through the landscapes that make the Earth most proud – the ocean, the cliffs, the forest, the desert, the mountains, and the top of the world. But the boy soon realizes happiness is much harder to find than he expected.

This book is a great way for parents to connect with their kids in a way that will prompt them to see more than what is immediately in front of them. It is full of truly stunning digitally drawn landscapes inspired by Burkard’s original photographs. It is written in a way for young children to understand and enjoy with each illustration as a reminder of the beauty in nature! Even adults need a reminder that you don’t always have to go off searching for happiness as it might be right in front of you. What a fabulous book to read to kids!
