LEGO is a big thing in my house. Between all of my son’s new LEGO sets and my husband’s old ones, I feel like I’m often helping to put together all kinds of creations – spaceships, castles, and even animals. All of this building means we have a lot of LEGO around our house. While I love to see our creations on display, I wanted a different way to display our love of LEGO, so I decided to add some fun to our coffee table with new LEGO books from No Starch Press.
Medieval LEGO?takes you through real English history in the middle ages with a unique twist, with every event illustrated by a tiny little LEGO scene. With contributions by medievalists and scholars, this book brings medieval history to life in a fun, kid-friendly way.
I love that I can get a mini history lesson with each scene in this book. From the signing of the Magna Carta to learning more about Richard the Lionheart, there is much to learn about in this book. Seeing the battle scenes depicted in LEGO is?a lot more fun than looking through a history textbook as well.
Travel through the history of architecture in?The LEGO Architect. You?ll learn about styles like Art Deco, Modernism, and High-Tech, and find inspiration in galleries of LEGO models. Then take your turn building 12 models in a variety of styles. Snap together some bricks and learn architecture the fun way!
It’s amazing seeing so many famous buildings depicted in LEGO. The book has different sections based on architectural styles and there’s a building guide as well. I can’t wait to attempt to try and make some of these buildings on my own and teach my son about architecture while doing so.
The Art of LEGO Scale Modeling?displays amazing, fan-built LEGO recreations of real-life vehicles, showing off every amazing detail with high-quality photographs.
This was my son’s absolute favorite. He’s a big fan of vehicles and things that go, so naturally he was drawn to this book. He was mesmerized by the details in each LEGO creation. It’s amazing to see something we could see normally, like a construction vehicle, recreated into a LEGO masterpiece. There’s everything from Formula 1 race cars to ships and planes in this book.
Scenes from nature spring to life in Mike Doyle’s latest curated collection of LEGO art,?Beautiful LEGO: Wild!?From botanical marvels to adorable critters’such as a sea otter family made from 3,500 LEGO pieces?every page is sure to delight the artist and naturalist in all of us.
This was my favorite book. Seeing all of the colors and creatures, real and imaginary, found in nature and created from LEGO was simply mind blowing. There are amazing landscape scenes and so many stunning?birds, lizards, and even fish. Everything about this book truly?is beautiful.
All of these amazing new LEGO books from No Starch Press are perfect for any LEGO lover’s home. Seeing?how many things you can create using LEGO is beautifully captured in each one of these books. I know they’re going to be a?favorite to look through for years to come and will always have a place on display in our home.
