I received a sample for review. All opinions are my own.

My engineer husband loves robotics. He took some robotics classes in college and made a few of his own. I know he’s so excited to share his love of robotics with our son. Although our son is a little young, the Ozobot Bit is the perfect introduction to robotics and STEM learning for him.
Ozobot?Bit is a powerful tiny robot that gamifies STEM and computer science learning through a collection of game based activities and digital apps. Its easy-to-understand color code language makes Ozobot the perfect choice for introducing young minds to concepts that are vital to their success in the 21st century.
We were all surprised by how tiny, but cool the Ozobot Bit is. It comes with a USB charger that I immediately plugged in so we could start to play with it. There’s a small card to calibrate it and then you’re good to go. It even comes with a pre-made track and each color on the track corresponds to a different command.
You can even draw your own track using markers and paper. This was really cool because it allows you to have it move however you like – you can create games, puzzles, or even have it dance. The color coding language is easy to understand for young minds, making this a great STEM learning tool.
The Ozobot Bit?takes the award-winning Ozobot robot to a whole new level of programming by allowing users to use their?block-based programming editor, OzoBlockly.
OzoBlockly is powered by Google’s Blockly. It offers a simplified visual programming language which allows children to easily learn programming. It allows children?to use their imagination while learning new skills at the same time. It has?five modes from Novice with icon-based blocks to Master with loops, logic and other advanced programming concepts and features:
- Program loading using light communication. No need for cables or Bluetooth – you can load your commands onto the robot through flashing lights!
- Built-in interactive reference guide, examples and challenges to get you started.
- JavaScript preview mode (coming soon). See your block-based program transform into JavaScript code.
- OzoBlockly works in most modern web browsers running on PCs, Mac OS X, Windows and Linux and iOS and Android tablets.
Although my son is too?young for the toy on his own (it’s geared for ages 8+), he had a great time playing with it with myself and my husband. I’ve found my husband playing around with it on his own and he really enjoys using the OzoBlockly program as it’s simple to use. I hope this sparks a true love of STEM concepts for my son and gets him interested in all the cool and fun ways we can use technology for learning.
