Despite having read thousands of books I still get excited when I crack open a new book I have never read before. I get especially happy when reading a new book to my girls. Reading is so important for children so I do try and get in at least 30 minutes daily for each girl but I do understand on busy days that can be tough. I love posting reviews of books because then I can share some of my favorites each month and perhaps help you find one that will spark your own child’s love of reading. Here is 1000 Extreme and Extraordinary Dinosaur Facts from Discovery Kids and The Find it Book by Margaret Wise Brown.

Uncover 1,000 awesome facts about deadly, terrifying, and powerful Dinosaurs! Which dangerous predator could bite off a tiger-sized chunk in a single chomp? What colossal creature weighed as much as 17 elephants? Which super-sized dinosaur was the largest animal to ever walk the Earth? These prehistoric creatures roamed our planet for 165 million years! They’re extreme. They’re extraordinary. They’re the ultimate WORLD RULERS!
Obsessed doesn’t even begin to describe my daughter’s love for non-fiction books lately. She is always toting one around the house looking at pictures and then having me read every detail to her. I am a true fantasy/sci-fi reader myself so I don’t have the passion for them like she does but I do find myself learning stuff with every book she picks up. Her class at school requires her to keep books in her desk and backpack for transitions and to read while waiting for pick-up in the afternoons and she has taken this one every day this week. She told me it never gets old to browse the pictures even though she can’t fully read it on her own yet. Two huge thumbs up from her and I am learning more about dinosaurs than I ever thought possible…if only the dino names were easier to pronounce!
Find the cow who jumped over the moon. Find Little Bo Peep’s lost sheep. Find the Owl and the Pussycat Look carefully as you turn each page! Find your favorite nursery rhyme characters hiding throughout this magical new title from Margaret Wise Brown, author of children’s classics Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny.
My youngest daughter at 3 still likes simple books with fun and whimsical illustrations. If I had to pinpoint her favorite books right now it would be what I call “look and find books.” She loves me to ask her to find something on a page and she gets such delight when she finds it. The Find it Book is from the beloved author of Goodnight Moon. It blends classic nursery rhymes into a fun book where little ones find items mentioned in the story. A perfect bedtime book for sure.
