Back-to-school season is finally here. ?Both my son and I are pretty excited for school to start, but he’s a bit nervous to go to preschool. I wanted to get him something fun as a way to celebrate and kick off the school year. I decided to check out the toys from?Thames & Kosmos since they offer fun and educational toys and decided the Automobile Engineer would be the perfect one for him.
Read the funny story of two inquisitive kids and build simple models of the vehicles they encounter on their comical trip to the supermarket with their dad. Along this roundabout journey, the kids build various vehicles to help the people in their town solve problems and complete tasks. As you follow the story, you can build models of the 10 vehicles in the story. From each humorous segment of their silly adventure, the kids learn something new and collect a funny souvenir.
I absolutely love that Thames & Kosmos has all of the pieces come in a reusable bin instead of a box. This makes it easy for storage and cleanup and hopefully avoids pieces getting lost. The Automobile Engineer is a 70-piece kit with a science book that comes with a great story.?As you follow the story, you can build models of the 10 vehicles in the story including a fire truck, motorcycle, and?forklift.
The story was also wonderful. It really engaged my son and there are many silly parts that got him laughing. Within each section of the story are step-by-step directions to build the different vehicles.
All of the pieces are colorful and large, making them perfect for little hands to hold and manipulate. My son was easily able to put the pieces together to build the different vehicles. It was great to work on this together with him and watch how he went through the thought process of building. The Automobile Engineer from Thames & Kosmos is the perfect way to set the groundwork for STEM related skills while still being fun. I can’t wait to try some of their other kids with my preschooler to develop his love of learning.
