I received a sample for this review/feature. Opinions expressed are my own.
My daughter will be turning ten in the next few weeks, and I have already had to discuss topics I wasn?t prepared to discuss. Passport2Purity was an answer to prayers when I was given the opportunity to review their Getaway Kit. Unfortunately, we were not able to getaway as they recommend. Instead we will be working on this?kit for several weeks?when my other children are?occupied or taking naps.
Thankfully my daughter has always been able to talk to me about things, but several months back one of her friends told her inappropriate, graphic details about sex. The one topic I though would not come up for several years. It happened when she spent the night with a friend from church. You know one of those families you know very well, and would never expect such a conversation to ever come up.
Now I have felt the need to prepare her for everything. I wish we could just shelter our children and never let them out of our sight, but unfortunately we have to at some point.

Times have changed, and our children are exposed to so much more than?we were as?children/pre-teens. I was still playing with my Barbie dolls in the sixth grade. Now our children are too eager to grow up. Their innocence is under attack daily and as parents it is our responsibility to prepare them for?a world full of sexting, bullying, online stalking and moral defiance. As a teen my parents were not able to talk to me about sex and everything that it may involve. Instead I was given a strict set of rules and told not to do IT.
Our primary defense for our children is a strong relationship with us and God. Family Life developed Passport2Purity (P2P) to assist us in preparing our children for puberty and beyond. Their kit will help parents build strong relationships with?their children, and lay a foundation of purity that will help him or her prepare for those turbulent years ahead.
In this kit you will listen to the CD’s?that will?guide you through their lesson plans and conversation topics. Itwill help?you to talk to your son or daughter about those difficult topics. ?The kit is designed to be used by a mother and daughter or a father and son when the child is a preteen, and is suggested to be completed over a weekend away from home. Not all families have a open door for communication, and their child may be more open to discussing the topics away from his or her normal environment. If this isn’t possible for you to getaway, the material can be completed over a period of four or five weeks.
Receive 25% off the getaway kit by using the promo code PASSPORT on their website.
This promo code is good through 8/31/15.
