~I received Secrets of the Lost Caves for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~

I’m a huge fan of Cheryl Potter’s The Potluck Yarn books! If you happened to follow my advice a few years ago and picked up The Broken Circle, then I’m sure you were weaved into her charms as well. Now Book Two is out and we can all continue the story of?knitting witches and what happened after the circle was broken!?Secrets of the Lost Caves begins right where The Broken Circle ended; so I highly suggest reading Book One before following onto the second.

For those of you that are new to the series, The Potluck Yarn books follow twelve witches in Bordertown. At a time when magic has been outlawed, they must come together to balance the natural world that is being threatened by darkness and chaos.?It had been 20 years since the Circle had come together to heal the world and now they must find each other again to restore what was lost.
Just when? The Circle of Twelve was almost complete, it was quickly broken again at the end of the first story. In Book Two, the knitting witches desperately race to find the Lost Caves and unlock the Secrets of the Crystal Caverns before The Dark Queen and her Kindred Spirit.
Mamie Verde has not drifted peacefully to the Land of Dreams, but is reborn high above the lost city of old Tigeria, deep within the Northland Glacier to assume guardianship of the Ancients, twenty years too late. And in the war torn Middlelands, nothing is certain but the power of the Fire and Ice Shawl, the need to make the amethyst necklace whole and the necessity of possessing both halves of the Skell of House Crystal Keep.
Follow the continuing adventures of the Fossick boys and knitting witches as they journey north to the windswept Out Crops to ally with Hed Clansmen and lift the curse of the Glacier Born in an attempt to reawaken the Magic of Men.
Secrets of the Lost Caves splits up our favorite characters into groups that are all racing towards a central point. The fascinating thing about Book Two is that it really goes into the Magic of Men and the curse of the Glacier Born, something that was only lightly touched on in Book One. If you are like me and had fallen in love with crazy ole Lavendar Mae, then you will certainly be racing through the story just as fast as the characters are through the Middlelands! She faces so much as the witch who was once cursed by the Ancients and becomes a very vital part of the story.
In Book Two you will find out what happened to Tracker, the story behind Skye’s family, how the Dark Queen became the way she is; plus gain more information about the Glacier Born and other places/people in the world of Potluck Yarn.
Just as with The Broken Circle, there are fun additional things that come along with Secrets of the Lost Caves. The first book had a Companion Pattern Book and a Student Workbork. This allowed readers to learn how to create the pieces that the knitting witches had in the books, such as Esmeralde’s Possible’s Bag that holds everything. Currently Book Two is asking for pattern ideas. Your pattern could be featured in the Companion Pattern Book Two!?However, they do currently have a virtual Fossikers Creed book that goes along with the story and explains a great deal about how they work. For those of you that don’t know, Fossikers are young boys who seek out relics of the old world for sale or trade.
You can also find classes, shop yarns and learn so much more about The Potluck Yarn world on the website. Cheryl Potter has created such a magical world in and out of the story. I highly suggest taking a peek and seeing behind the dye pot for yourself!
