Our kids live in is extremely fast paced digital world so I am constantly trying to foster my girls’ love of crafts and getting their hands dirty…so to speak. They don’t have computers and I limit their television watching so that they can use their imaginations to create things. My two are certainly ones that love their arts and crafts. I am not a big crafty person so I am learning along the way. My 6 year old has been following along the rubber band bracelet craze and has brought several home from school but she is much more excited to be making them all on her own. The Friendly Bands Sunshine Loom Deluxe Kit has brought hours of fun to our house and Big Sis is showing no signs of slowing down.
The Sunshine
Loom is the first and only circular loom created to weave rubber band
projects. The truly amazing part about FriendlyBands is the company’s visionary and creator,
Jessica, whom founded FriendlyBands in 2011, when she was just 8 years
old. She went on to design and create over 50 beautiful patterns. Soon after,
FriendlyBands was being sold at local art supply stores, local Learning
Express locations, and all AC Moore stores in South Florida and became a local celebrity. Jessica gets involved in just about every aspect of the business and is an accomplished entrepreneur by the age of 12. Her story just amazes me and I enjoy supporting businesses that start out this way.
SunShineLoom DELUXE Craft Kit includes:
- 3,000+ Mixed fbRubberBands (Latex-Free, High Quality & Rich Color)
- 100 fbLinks (Easy to Use, Durable S Clasps)
- 20 fbCharms (Easy to Use, Durable & Interchangeable)
- 2 fbHooks
The great thing about this loom is that it is labeled for different sized bracelets so you can make them for kids, teens or adults. These are pictures of the easiest design in the included instruction book on size small. I am one to start easy and move my way up. The website includes several videos with instructions on making different patterned bracelets and they list them has beginner, intermediate, advanced and then some seasonal patterns. After showing Big Sis how to make one she was off and running making them all on her own.
They are adorable and she is already making one for everyone she knows. These are super addictive to make even for me!
My daughter is now fascinated by making her own. We are doing it together to start as I have to help her learn a new pattern. There is a slight learning curve as the first few didn’t turn out right but then I watched one of their videos that made it so much easier. You can also use this loom to make rings or other little project like key chains too. This is definitely my kind of craft because it isn’t messy and you can change it up with different patterns. Girls and boys alike would love to make these bracelets!
