We certainly love to watch new movies on our weekly movie night and the animated movie BoxTrolls was a huge hit with my family. It is a 3D stop motion animated fantasy-adventure film about a group of trolls that live beneath the city and come out at night to collect trash for their inventions. It takes place in 1805 which gives it an old world charm and the peaceful boxtrolls raise a baby named eggs. The problem is that people think the boxtrolls are bad and the exterminator has been given a deal to get rid of all the boxtrolls.
Quirky, mischievous and good-hearted, the Boxtrolls are unique creatures who have lovingly raised a human boy named Eggs in a fantastical charming cavern below the bustling streets of Cheesebridge. But when the evil Archibald Snatcher schemes to capture Eggs? family, it’s up to Eggs and his feisty new friend Winnie to save the Boxtrolls!
Based upon the book Here Be Monsters! The Boxtrolls voice cast also includes Academy Award? nominee Toni Collette, Jared Harris (Mad Men), Nick Frost (The World’s End), Richard Ayoade (The Watch), Tracy Morgan (30 Rock), and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead).
This Blu-ray set is especially full of great extras. I am a huge fan of all the little things you can watch after you have enjoyed the movie.

I think it is great that the digital version is out sooner in case you just can’t wait to watch the film. You can put the movie right into your itunes account. My girls really enjoy watching movies on their ipads whenever we are riding in the car. The great part about this movie is that it is completely new and different from all the other movies out there. The change of pace from our normal movie routine was welcomed and we enjoyed every minute of the movie. This is one movie that will definitely be watched over and over again.
