I love that I have the freedom to live my own life and for the most part, do what I want – as long as it’s legal and doesn’t harm others, of course. I am a free spirit and very opinionated, so I know that I wouldn’t survive long in a world, or a country where I was controlled. But the thing that I, as well as my fellow Americans must understand, accept and appreciate, is that freedom isn’t free. Whether we personally paid the price or not, someone did pay the price for us.
The US soldiers and their families have sacrificed so much so that we can live in freedom. The soldiers themselves have not only spent an unimaginable amount of time training, but they’ve also sacrificed their time and time away from their families for us. Mothers and fathers have had to miss their sons and daughters. Wives (and husbands) are raising children on their own. The list of sacrifices goes on and on.
And what about the veterans that have served our country in the past? We mustn’t forget them. But sadly, society has forgotten many of these people. I know first hand, because my father in law is one of them. No one remembers him or thanks him for his service. He’s even often excluded from family events which just baffles me. But the BAND-AID brand hasn’t forgotten about him or other veterans. In fact, they’ve come out with OUR VETERAN HEROES? BAND-AID? Brand Adhesive Bandages that feature military and patriotic inspired designs. These special edition BAND-AID? bandages are available for purchase at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid
This is in partnership with Team Red, White & Blue which helps connect America’s veterans with their communities through activities, both social and physical. 5% of the sale price of each box sold will be donated to Team Red, White & Blue, by BAND-AID? Brand. Additionally, runners in Team Red, White & Blue Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay will carry an American flag 3,800 miles across the country, through November 9th. BAND-AID? Brand is a sponsor and this relay will help to raise not only money, but awareness to support veteran communities in America. Additionally, BAND-AID? Brand will donate $1 {up to $25,000} for each message that thanks our veterans and encourages Relay runners!
Messages can be shared through the BAND-AID? page and also by using the #RunWithGlory hashtag on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
