I am forever attempting to find Sonshine, healthy and great tasting snacks for his own the go personality. At almost five, he’s been a picky eater since around one and a half and I try my best to accommodate is sensitive palate while nourishing his body! You can feed a child anything, but it takes real food and real ingredients to give their growing bodies what they deserve!
18 Rabbits is an amazing company with the cutest background story. Alison, founder, had found memories of her mother making granola from scratch as a child, all made with wholesome ingredients. They also had a pet rabbit named Blackjack, who would play in their yard. Well, one afternoon, Alison and her siblings forgot to grab Blackjack before heading inside to enjoy mom’s granola. As you can guess, sometime later, the family was joined by a bushel of bunnies, 18 rabbits to be exact! This wonderful memory along with her mother’s amazing granola grew into what is know as 18 Rabbits today!
Each bar is made with their organic granola, which is made from scratch, using homemade recipes and real, wholesome ingredients. How many companies can say they know the farmer’s who grow the food they use? Real fruit, nuts, seeds, and chocolate are used, along with cacao nibs and real coconut. You won’ find any refined sugars in 18 Rabbit and 18 Rabbits JR has no dairy, wheat, nut, or soy ingredients in addition to no refined sugars! Each certified organic bar is filled with ingredients you’d feel good about eating or letting your child eat. And conveniently packaged, these bars are perfect for after sports, lunches, park dates, or those random whining’s of “I’m hungry” between lunch and dinner. My husband ones a lot of lifting at his job, so the bigger bars are great snacks for him as well.
As for our personal favorite flavors, Sonshine is obsessed with the Chocolate Cherry and Mango Strawberry. He says they are “perfectly yummy” but Chocolate Banana is best for breakfast. My husband was partial to the Cherry, Dark Chocolate, & Almond (fruit doesn’t fall too far from the tree). It had a sweet and bitter aspect to the bar, making it quite enjoyable. I liked the Fig, Cranberry, & Hazelnut myself. Just the right sweetly tartness paired with creamy hazelnuts, I could eat them all the time!
And with each bar, 18 Rabbits donates more than 1% of bars made to 1% FOR KIDS?. Good for you, good for the community too.
