Some Terrible Toads are wreaking havoc on the town of Drywater Gulch. These aren’t the toads you find hopping on the ground, these are 3 nasty bandits that want to steal your gold, kiss your cattle, and insult your chili. Luckily, Sheriff Ryan has rode into town on a tortoise ready to help solve the problem.
My son loves stories with a good hero. This hero, Sheriff Ryan, happens to know a lot about dinosaurs and that right there was enough to impress my son. He loved hearing the fun facts about dinosaurs and laughed right along with me when reading this book. While Sheriff Ryan says dinosaurs are committing the crimes, The Toads beg to differ.
Could it really be the “dineysaurs” committing the crimes and not The Toads or is Sheriff Ryan just trying to trick them? Well, you’ll have to read for yourself to find out, but we really loved the ending.
The illustrations are great in this book and really match the characters and the overall tone of the book. It’s full of humor for both parents and kids. It was a lot of fun reading this while using different voices for the characters and made it even funnier for both my son and I. We hope Sheriff Ryan has more adventures in the future as he makes his way into the next town looking for help.
