My Fitbit Dashboard from 10/15/2014 |
So here I am all these years later, middle aged and about 40-50lbs overweight, ugh! I have found various things that have inspired me over the years but nothing has motivated me more than the Fitbit. I wear my Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker all day and when I get home at night it syncs up with my computer. You can also track it on your phone by downloading an app but I’m still a little old school.
How many steps I walked so far that day. |
I love that I can look at my dashboard and see how many steps I’ve taken throughout the day, how many miles that equates to, how many calories I’ve burned for the day and when my most active times throughout the day were. I’m absolutely hooked! I get really disappointed with myself if I forget to wear it or I don’t have much activity to record for the day. I feel like I’m failing at something that is very important to me and I don’t like that at all.
I’ve also discovered many other Fitbit enthusiasts over the past several months and they all have the same reaction that I did. They absolutely love it! It helps them to stay focused, see their progress and feel good about themselves.

You can also track your food intake and meal plan to help you achieve your goals. For my food intake I use Myfitnesspal.com because they have an awesome database for finding almost any food that you can imagine. If you can’t find it then you can create it if you have the nutrition values available to you. It’s pretty cool. They also have a great exercise database to help you keep track of your physical activity. I use the Fitbit activity tracker with the Myfitnesspal food tracker, it’s a great combination and one that is working for me.
I really do recommend checking out the Fitbit (I got a great deal on mine from Walmart) as well as Myfitnesspal.com. I think that many of you would be pleasantly surprised. I know I was! In the meantime, good luck to you all and keep fighting the good fight!
