I had the pleasure of trying the Mediflow Waterbase Fiberfill Pillow . I have sleep issues so anything that will help me to get a better night’s sleep is welcome. From the very first night that I slept on this amazing pillow, my sleep has been better. It’s super comfortable! It stayed in place all night as I tossed and turned and trust me when I tell you, I am very active while attempting to fall asleep. It was never cold, due to the great insulation and I did not hear the water sloshing around all night long. That was my second favorite thing because I am a very light sleeper and hear everything! My first favorite thing was, of course, how comfortable it was!
Mediflow Waterbased Pillows are:
- The pillow’s patented therapeutic waterbase? design supports your head and neck while responding to changing sleep positions.
- Simply fill the waterbase as directed, adjusting the amount of water to the degree of support you prefer – soft, medium or firm.
- A cushion of hypoallergenic polyester fiber rests over the water layer for luxurious comfort, then a thermal insulator surrounds the water layer.
- Jumbo size pillow measures 20″ x 28″ and can fit in either standard or queen size pillowcases.
- Pillow cover is 100% cotton with a 200 thread count.
- Fill is 100% polyester fiber and water.
- Machine wash.
- Includes funnel and filling/care instructions.
- Made in the USA.
- Three-year warranty.
The really great thing about this pillow is that you can fill the water pouch with regular tap water to your desired comfort level. I love all things soft and squishy so I filled my pillow to the lower level. It enveloped my head and neck and still gave me great neck support. I did not wake up with any neck pains at all. You can go from low to high (soft to firm) and everything in between. I would warn, however, that if you have lifting restrictions to fill the pillow near it’s intended location or have someone lift if for you. It does gain weight as you fill it with water. I filled mine for a more firm setting today and it weighed 20.8 lbs.
It is also super easy to fill. It comes with a funnel/tool that helps you to fill the pillow and also to screw and unscrew the cap. Pretty nifty little tool, if you ask me. It is recommended that you fill it in the upright position (shown above) for best results. I’m a bit clumsy so I did spill a little bit but it did not damage anything. Simply add the amount of water needed for the desired comfort level, screw the cap back on and Voila! The most comfortable pillow you have ever slept on!
Like many of you I was also concerned about mold and mildew developing inside the pouch. I read up on this and discovered that if you are using ordinary tap water you can leave it in for up to a year before you need to change it. If you are using well water simply add a few drops of bleach to keep your water clean and bacteria free.
This pillow has received rave reviews, including my own. So whatever your sleep issues may be, I highly recommend giving the Mediflow Waterbased Pillow a try!
