I love taking photos and have since I was just a small girl. I remember my first camera, it used 110 film and you had to manually wind it to take the next photo. Well cameras have come quite a long way since then and
these days I can most often be found taking photos with my smartphone. It’s the fasted and most convenient way for me since I always have my phone with me. Not to mention, my phone takes pretty stellar photos!
The one issue I seem to have though, is actually doing something with those photos – like getting them off my phone and into an album! I used to be so good at that when the kids were younger, but I’ve been quite the slacker for the last 5 or so years. Photos usually remain in my phones, on my computer’s hard drive and of course uploaded to my social media channels and my blog. But that’s not good enough anymore. We need to be able to treasure our memories and with the help of the Kodak Picture Kiosk at CVS, our memories will no longer be stored digitally.
You see, the Kodak Picture Kiosk allows you to create photo books, prints, calendars and more; right in the store. There are many ways that you can upload your photos to the Kodak Picture Kiosk including Facebook, Instagram, E-mail, USB, Cell-phone (through the USB), CD-ROM, Dropbox, GoogleDrive, Picasa and Flickr.
Making a photo book is easy – select the theme you’d like to use for your book. I selected basic blue since my photos didn’t have a specific theme, but were more of a recap of our summer fun. Then just upload your photos whichever way you choose (from those listed above).
Once you’ve uploaded all of the photos, you can move pictures around to different pages and even select a cover photo for your photo book. You’ll see (below) that I chose one of my favorite shots of The Man and our adorable little nephew. I just love this photo and it sure made the perfect cover for our photo book!
Once you’ve created your photo book using Facebook (like I did), you can choose whether you’d like to share the album on Facebook or not. You’ll have the option to order other items if you wish and then a little receipt will print which you will take to the cashier to pay for your purchases.
The CVS Photo Center was not busy when I went, so my photo book pages started printing right away at the printing station behind the Kodak Picture Kiosks and I was able to see the manager put my photo book together. It was really quite neat to watch! I love that Photo Books are available for same day pick up. They’d make a really great last minute gift for someone!
I had a wonderful experience at my store and all of the staff (especially Jack, the manager) were very helpful in answering questions that I had, as well as guiding me through the process.
Stay tuned later this week because I’ll be sharing photos of the photo book as well as a special gift that I had made for The Man!
What photo memories would you put in your photo book?
