August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, so I’ve rounded up a few must have products for breastfeeding moms. One great stylish product for moms are Chewbeads. My son began teething at seven months and has been testing his limits with his teeth lately while nursing. Have you ever heard of Chewbeads? Well I was kinda skeptical of them until I was able to test out a necklace and bracelet. I washed them by hand when they first arrived although they are dishwasher safe. Before I allowed my son to chew on them I tugged on all the beads to make sure they were secure and I was interested to see what he thought of them. To my surprise he chewed on them without hesitation. He really seemed to like them. I wore them to a baby shower, birthday party, and to church the next day. I even gave him my bracelet to calm him down while we were in the car. The jewelry is 100% silicone and is completely chemical-free, heat-resistant and safe. They create an excellent focus tool for breastfeeding babies and helps them release that sensation to bite while nursing.
I?m a modest mother that nurses in public and on demand. My current favorite nursing cover is by Belly Armor2. Not only is it stylish and discrete, it is also 99.9% effective at shielding radiation from cell phones, laptops, and other devices. Made with RadiaShield Fabric lining which is like placing a 1/4-inch thick sheet of aluminum between your baby and your device. The nursing cover is very comfortable with an adjustable strap, contour shoulder flaps, rigid neckline and it is the perfect size, 31 x 33 inches. The rigid neckline allows air flow under the cover while baby is nursing. Now you’re probably asking “how do I know that this Belly Armor Nursing Cover really shields electromagnetic waves”? Well I did the cell phone test. First I took note of my cell phone signal, then I wrapped it in the nursing cover and after 30 seconds my signal disappeared. That’s proof enough for me, and it is light weight enough to use during these dreadfully hot months.
If you currently do not have a nursing cover I would recommend Aden + Anias. When I don?t have my nursing cover, I use my Aden + Anias blankets and just tuck the corners around my bra straps to secure a convent cover to nurse. Their blankets are over sized and versatile, the muslin swaddles can be used for swaddling, tummy time, as a stroller cover, and more. They also have the most absorbent muslin burpy bib for baby and generously sized burping cloth for moms.
The one must have product when nursing is a good nursing bra. When I grew out of my regular bras I decided to invest in a couple of good nursing bras. Cake Lingerie’s nursing bras and sleepwear are made from natural, Eco-friendly modals & cottons They’ll keep your body cool and comfortable. With built-in shelf support and drop down cups for easy feeding, the Cake Lingerie nursing bras and sleepwear are versatile. They are designed for different stages of your pregnancy from 0-3 months pregnant to 8+ weeks post natal.
These are my breastfeeding necessities, and it makes nursing so much easier when you don’t have to worry about being unprepared to nurse on demand.
