Nugget is very into a certain pirate show right now and loves when Daddy brings him home “gold doubloons.” He has a small metal lunch box that he refers to as his treasure chest and that’s where he keeps all of his coins. He was so excited when I showed him the new Designer Piggy Bank from Wikki Stix because he would have his very own place to keep his money. The Wikki Stix Designer Piggy Bank is made of the highest quality, features a stopper for easy coin removal, and comes with 72 colorful Wikki Stix.
We first discovered Wikki Stix at a local restaurant a year ago. Nugget absolutely loves Wikki Stix because he can bend them and re-stick them any which way he likes. They’re an amazing toy and have so many ways they can be used.
What are Wikki Stix made of?
Wikki Stix are made of hand-knitting yarn enhanced with a microcrystalline food-grade, non-toxic wax, the kind used in bubble gum and lipstick. They do not contain latex, gluten, nor peanut or other nut oils or byproducts which makes them an ideal creative activity toy for children with allergies.
How do they work?
Simply stated?they stick! No glue, no paste, no mess. Just press them down with light fingertip pressure and they will adhere to almost any smooth surface. They are also easy to peel up and reposition so mistakes virtually disappear, which helps build self-confidence. There is no preparation, no clean-up, no mess. Press ?em down, peel ?em off? it’s that simple!
Wikki Stix are great for boys and girls and range in age from 3 to 103. They’re fun for everyone to play with. They make great educational tools, like using them to make letters of the alphabet, or can be used to make crafts or to simply just create something new with. They do not break apart, but can be cut with scissors, and best of all they’re made in the USA.
Nugget set right out to decorate his pig. He loved all of the different colors that Wikki Stix comes in and I just let his imagination run free to decorate. I did help him some when he asked for certain shapes (star and heart) and to put glasses on the pig. He enjoyed that he could just pick up and move the Wikki Stix to another spot if he decided he didn’t like the way it looked and I love that he can move them around mess free. He spent at least 30 minutes figuring out exactly how he wanted his piggy to look.
He decided to name his pig Oink, which I wrote out on the side of the pig in Wikki Stix. The other day he went to visit his grandma who gave him a bunch of $2 bills. He was beyond excited to carefully fold each one and put it into his piggy. Naturally, as soon as Daddy got home he made sure to ask for “gold doubloons” and put them in there as well.
Giving your child their own piggy bank is an excellent way to teach them about saving money. Whether they want to buy a new bicycle or take a trip to the movies, allowing them to save on their own and purchase something with their own money will give them a sense of accomplishment. What better way to save than with a fun piggy bank you can design yourself.
I can’t wait until Nugget gets a little older and starts to learn more about the value of money and decides what it is he wants to save up for. I know he’ll be just as excited about saving his money as he will be about spending it now that he has his own Wikki Stix Designer Piggy Bank to keep his savings in.
