My family loves to be on the water. Since our very first boat trip on Lake Michigan years ago, hubby and I talked about getting a boat. A few years went buy and we were finally able to purchase a nice used fish and ski. We were on little lakes in our area that entire summer; almost every weekend spent on a boat. It was the summer of our lives!
Fast forward a year or two and we ended up moving to a house right across the street from a lake and are lucky enough to have our own pier, right on the water. It’s something I’d always dreamed of and it was pretty awesome when it became a reality!
As luck would have it, our boat broke down that first summer, needing a complete lower unit of the motor. It’s been sitting in our driveway teasing me ever since. But lucky for us, we have friends with boats, who just happen to love visiting us on the lake. So even though we’re technically boat-less, we’re still able to enjoy the lake with our friends.
Our days on the water are always so much much. We go fast and catch the wind in our hair, the guys fish, we jump off the boat to swim and the kids go tubing. They love it. I’m pretty sure they could literally live on the water if I let them!
One of the really amazing things about living on a lake is that my husband and I were able to get married right on our little lake lot, have a reception in our backyard and take photographs on the water. It was absolutely amazing!
Boating is such a fun experience and everyone has always had such a great time. Whether you’re a seasoned boater or just getting your feet wet for the very first time, there are things that everyone can enjoy to do on the water. Maybe a relaxing ride at sunset is your cup of tea. Or a thrilling ride on a jet ski. Whatever you fancy, just do it!

The next adventure in boating that I want to experience with my family is a house boat. Our friends just went on a week long trip on the Mississippi River and raved about their vacation. They had the time of their lives and created some pretty awesome family memories!
