We celebrated my son’s 1st birthday this past week. If you are having a hard time deciding on what to get your one-year-old for his birthday you should consider classic toys by Fisher-Price such as the Brilliant Basics Corn Popper, Rock-a-Stack or Baby’s First Blocks they are a perfect gift choice for your little Prince or Princess.
A perfect age-appropriate gift for my son would be the Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Corn Popper. My son has played more with the Corn Popper than he has anything else. It took him several tries to get the Corn Popper to pop. Basically it took him a bit to get his coordination together to use the toy properly which makes it a great developmental toy for him.
Not all one-year-olds will be walking by their 1st birthday so they will need gifts that they can sit-n-play with like Rock-a-Stack. It is great option for hand-eye coordination. While the base is rocking back-n-forth baby has to place the rings on the center. As it gets easier for baby to place the rings on the base then you can focus more on size relationship and make it a more challenging toy.
Baby’s First Blocks are another great option to sit-n-play with. It has a handy handle so that when baby begins walking he can tote it around. My son mostly wanted to take the top off (the part that has the cut out shapes). He does sit and try to sort the shapes through the correct opening, but it takes a little encouragement. He would rather all the shapes go through the same opening.
Get Inspired and Pick a Theme: The first step in planning a first birthday party? Pick a theme! This will help make planning and decision making so much easier.
Activities are King!: Keeping the little ones happily entertained is the key to a good time for everyone! For toddlers, designate a large, kid-proofed play area to serve as their ?Royal Play Zone? filled with age-appropriate toys.
Please Be Seated: Want the littlest guests to actually sit down and eat? Set an inviting table styled especially for them! Start with a kid-friendly table runner lined with colorful toy blocks from Baby’s First Blocks and top each (unbreakable) plate with a pint sized-birthday crown or party hat!
Let’s Eat (and Smash!) Cake: Every party needs a cake, but a first birthday calls for TWO! You?ll need one cake to serve your guests, and a smaller one for your baby to taste?and smash.
