Back to school shopping can be such a drag; not just for parents but for kids too. I don’t know many kids who get excited to shop and my kids certainly aren’t the exception. But there are a few ways that I can get the kids to want to shop.
1. Find a store that they like – My kids can’t stand going into some stores with me, but I’ve found there are some that they do like; ones that sell things that they like. For instance, they love going into Kohl’s with me because they can check out a large section of clothing, then head to the shoe department. They even like shipping for socks and boxers there, go figure!
2. Let them pick some things on their own – Just like adults, kids have their own style that make them the unique person that they are. There comes a time when we just have to step back and let them be themselves, and this includes their choice in clothing {for the most part}. If we walk into Kohl’s and I let them just wander around the department looking at things, they tend to be content and end up finding things that they really like!
3. Don’t skip the name brands – I know, we all say it’s just a label and sometimes it is. But when you have kids in school, name brands are sometimes very important. Luckily Kohl’s offers many of the brands that kids love like Nike, Tony Hawk, Levi’s and more. The often have killer sales too, so you’re bound to get some deals!
My kids have actually enjoyed back to school shopping this year because of these tips that I’ve just shared. It’s made things easier on me as well because now I don’t feel like I’m dragging them to the store. The nice thing is that I can get their clothing, shoes, under garments, backpacks and supplies all in one stop!
