I love my country. I may not always agree with the politics involved, but nonetheless – I am a patriot. That’s why I was really excited to share a patriotic coffee moment with my father in law because he is a true military hero – a Vietnam Veteran.
In honor of America’s military heroes, Coffee-mate has joined with Operation Homefront to show support for our freedom fighters. They’ve even decorated some of the creamer bottles in red, white and blue stars and stripes in true patriotic fashion!
You can find these new stars and stripes creamers at Walmart through Independence Day. Varieties include French Vanilla & Hazelnut liquid creamer bottles and their Original powder creamer.
I wanted to make our “coffee moment” extra special, so I decided to make my father in law’s favorite muffin – Banana & Walnut. I thought it would pair perfectly with our coffee and I just knew he’d enjoy it all! I added fresh chopped bananas and walnuts to the muffins and he said they were delicious. He really enjoyed the French Vanilla creamer in his coffee too!
Today I thanked him. I thanked him for being a part of our lives, for fighting for our freedom and for joining me for breakfast. I also made a promise that we would have more coffee and muffin moments!
How would you create a special flavorful moment with a military hero in your life?

Directions:
- Prepare muffins according to recipe or package directions. Before stirring, add chopped walnuts and bananas. Pour into muffin tins and bake according to directions.
