Elemental T’s is a new Brooklyn-based, mom-founded, kids’ t-shirt company that aims to not only embrace, but to celebrate the curiosity that seems such a universal characteristic in young children. Our shirts are bright and colorful and the designs are meant to fuel their already innate interest in the natural world and in machines. We added in a small fact card and a toy magnifying glass to encourage a sense of discovery.
Kids see the world on a more magnified scale and are naturally curious. Every stick, bug and flower is fascinating to them. They are riveted by animals and by machines ? by that turtle in the pet store or the fire engine racing down the street ? and the mechanics of how they work. It’s that way of seeing the world that inspired us to create Elemental Ts. We thought it would be fun to put a more scientific spin on some perennial childhood favorites ? and to introduce some new ones. Our designs feature detailed images of both wildlife and man-made objects in the style of line drawings found in classic science textbooks while keeping the fun and vibrant color combinations that kids really want to wear.
Nugget was so excited about his new shirts. He’s very into machines and modes of transportation right now, so the Robot and Tugboat shirts were perfect for him. He was really intrigued to learn more about them, so the fact cards were the perfect touch to add to the shirts. He asked what each word was on the shirt and we named the different parts together – the attention to detail on the shirt designs is spot-on. He also loved the magnifying glass that came with each shirt. He immediately set out to the backyard and started to look for bugs on the tree.
I think Elemental T’s are awesome. They’re made from 100% cotton so they’re breathable, but they’re well made and feel like they will handle my rough and tumble boy. The shirts are all made in the US and are individually screen printed by hand. The shirts do run a little on the small side, so be sure to check the size chart and plan to order a size up. They come in a variety of colors, even lavender and hot pink for the curious girls out there. The combination of fun and education makes these shirts perfect for any curious boy or girl.
