Dads can be downright hard to shop for. I know this to be true, because I used to have trouble finding the right gift for my dad all the time. I’d usually end up with tools, something that he really didn’t need anymore of. What I should have done is thought long and hard about what he could use, but something he would never buy for himself – clothes!
This Father’s Day, I got to shop a little early for my husband, since sadly I no longer have my own daddy to shop for. I let him know we were going to Kohl’s and that he could choose anything he wanted. I did however, suggest clothes because just like my dad, my husband doesn’t buy new clothes very often. While he will shop for himself (unlike my dad), he tends to wait until he’s down to a few pair of decent jeans or shirts. He has this really bad habit of wearing his normal clothes to work some days – on a roof! I just sit back and silently think “Are you kidding me?!”.
Now let me just say, walking into a store that sells clothing or shoes with my husband is no treat. I’m not lying when I say he shops like a woman. He spent a good 45 minutes browsing, but finally came up with the entire outfit, including shoes and sunglasses above. The kicker – including tax, we spent just over $100!
He really needed a new pair of tennis shoes since he wasn’t too thrilled with the last ones he bought and had been wearing boots lately. Well now it’s summertime and boots just don’t go very well with shorts. Kohl’s has such a great selection of all the name brands he loves.
He was happy to have a nice new outfit for our 4 nephews’ first birthday party, the kids were happy to help dad pick out part of his Father’s Day gift and I was happy to have a well dresses man again. When we’re all happy at the same time = Priceless!
