I love easy sewing projects that take maybe a total of 15 minutes! The worst part of sewing for me is ironing. Ugh, I really hate to iron. I have several cousins having babies and really can?t afford to go out and buy them really nice gifts. Naturally I have decided to sew them something that looks like it came directly from a boutique. Just wish I had a embroidery machine to really make them fancy. The fabric I am using was given to me several years ago. I will also be giving a matching Boo Nursing Cover that I designed myself.
Materials:
- Fabric scraps
- Pre-made burp cloths/diapers
- Matching thread
Step 1:
First you will need to cut your scraps to fit your pre-made burp cloth approximately 18 x 6.5 inches. I say approximately because if you have ever seen a pre-made burp cloth/diaper they are not sewn exactly square. I had to improvise.
Step 2:
This is my least favorite part the ironing. First you need to iron everything normally. Next you will need to fold over your width pieces to fit the center of your pre-made burp/diaper cloth. Iron those sides then fold over the length pieces to fit the length of your pre-made burp/diaper cloth and iron again.
Step 3:
This is the easiest part. I would advise you to pin your fabric piece in place so that it stays on the pre-sewn lines of the pre-made burp/diaper cloth. Then sew along the edges and you are finished.
